I taught this using the first 2 slides as an introduction and worked with the class to find out the answers.
Then children completed the questions in speech bubbles (differentiated) by physically dividing up the the cakes between the Harry/Meghan/ the Queen / Prince William who were stuck on plastic plates. Cakes to print and laminate provided, but you could use real ones.
Sheets to record on also.

The numbers 0-20 on Autumn leaves. This resource can be printed out and laminated and cut into cards. The cards can be used for number activities such as matching quantities to the digit, or digit ordering. They can also be used for display. The numbers are on a photograph of a leaf which lends to a more neutral, natural aesthetic than illustrated/ drawn images. They would be perfect for use when learning about Autumn or whilst doing outdoor learning or forest school.
Space themed addition word problems for Reception or Year 1.
There are a couple of examples on a power point which can be shown to the class and the children can work together to work out the answers. Animations make the word problem, and how to work out the answer visual.
Then there are differentiated questions (answers below 10 and answers 10-20) to be printed and completed by the children with a self assessment area on them.
At the end there is further ‘mastery’ type questions, which allow for discussion and are clearly explained using pictures to support. There is a mastery question to be printed and completed by the children also.
I have created this template to use to send weekly home learning home to parents/carers for if my class is closed due to Coronavirus or for when children are isolating. It is designed for Early Years classes: Nursery or Reception.
The start of the document provides information for parents about what they need to do at home each week. It also outlines key skills that they should practise at home with their children such as dressing, sharing and ways to approach this. There is a suggested timetable to ensure children retain some routine. There is also a sheet advising parents on how to read effectively with their children.
The actual activities section is blank, ready for you to add your own relevant daily activities. Please see my shop if you would like to download activities for a certain topic- I’ve got quite a few other resources on there.

This resource is suitable for making pancakes on a hob and also has a FOREST SCHOOL alternative where recipe can be followed for pancakes cooked on a campfire.
For a teacher, independent activities like this are AMAZING to just sit back and watch (until the cooking part!). I model then put kids in a small mixed ability group and just watch and see how they get on. Its so interesting and I can really see who has which skills and how they interact in a group. Great for evidence in pretty much every area of the EYFS.
Lots of opportunities within an activity using this book for maths and literacy skill development.
Perfect for a non-fiction text suitable and accessible to early readers. Could be used for guided reading.
Could be used for home learning as children can access on a screen without printing.

A great 21 page resource for an independent baking activity used in Reception (though could be used with children of other ages, particularly Year 1 or children with SEND).
I modelled how to make the pies to my class, then put them in small, mixed ability groups to make the pies. I did not help them at all unless they were really stuck and came to ask for help (except with the oven!) They knew that they had to help each other instead. It was amazing how well they did! The children demonstrated fantastic mathematical language, teamwork, communication and problem solving skills. I do an independent baking tasks every so often as an assessment method. It’s a great activity to observe for assessment purposes.
This pack includes:
• Recipe slides which can be used on the board to demonstrate to the children what they need to do, then be printed to create a recipe book. Recipe is written as simply as possible (higher ability Reception children should be able to read most of it) and represented in pictures too. All measurements are in scoops or spoonfuls so the children can measure out themselves.
• Printable ‘design a mince pie’ writing/ drawing/ labelling sheet
• Teacher tips and planning (including scoop sizes etc. so you can resource the activity so the recipe works!)

In this resource you will find differentiated planning and resources for Reception, Nursery or Year One. They are challenges and activities to be used on a snowy day or during a winter topic. Some work best when the children are playing in the snow outside. This would be suitable for remote learning.
This pack includes:
Snowman writing challenges- children can draw, name, label the snowmen they have made and even make a fact file (which could be used later for story writing)
Maths challenges- measuring snowmen differentiated challenges
making snowballs - number challenges ( numeral recognition and addition/subtraction)
Snowball target practise maths game - tally and totals
Photos of sowmen for inspiration
science- melting/freezing ideas and worksheet to predict and test the best way ‘free’ the toys from the ice the fastest.
Activities are colour coded for differentiation.
Slides should be printed and used as challenge cards- I lamiate and put them around for children/staff to access. Children can access different levels of differentiation by using the colour coding and finding their name on a coloured grid. This ensures all children are suitably challenged, even in free flow/ continuous provision.
Resources and plans cover EYFS Expressive Arts and Design (EAD) , Writing (W) , Number (N), Shape, Space and Measure (SSM), Communication and Language (CL) , PSED, Physical development (PD) and Understanding the world (UTW) objectives. They meet some national curriculum areas for Year 1.
This pack contains everything you need for three snowflake snow themed maths activities. Linked to the new development matters framework for both three to four and reception age children. Subitising
Number recognition
Cardinal principal
Number composition
Recognising, describing and creating shape and pattern
